ORION Piping Solutions for Data Centers
Process cooling water delivered in a robust system.
The data center industry has experienced exponential growth in recent years, fueled by the increasing demand
for cloud computing, data storage, and digital services. As data centers continue to expand, the need for efficient
and sustainable cooling solutions becomes mission critical. Orion interfaces chilled water with Computer Room
Air Conditioners (CRACs) and with cold plate cooling technologies to properly control condensation and humidity
within server rooms.
Reduced downtime. Water-based damage to costly equipment can lead to costly repairs and downtime for data centers. That’s why it’s critical that the right piping materials are chosen for your process cooling water system. Polypropylene (PP) and polyvinylidene fluoride (PVDF) are the preferred thermoplastic piping material to interface with chilled water systems at data centers.
Orion offers two lines of thermoplastic process piping. Our Whiteline™ PPI is manufactured from pure unpigmented virgin Type I homopolymer polypropylene, ensuring high-purity. Our Whiteline™ PVDF is molded from Kynar® resin that contains no plasticizers, pigments, or other additives ensuring ultra high-purity. Both piping systems have smooth interior surfaces with joining methods that limit roll-back for free flow of deionized water.
The benefit of deionized water. Deionized water doesn’t leave behind mineral deposits in the pipework and is free of corrosive salts. So, it is often used in cooling systems to increase efficiency and the lifespan of the cooling infrastructure. Orion’s PP and PVDF piping systems are ideal for transporting deionized water. By considering these options, data centers can maximize uptime while maintaining a reliable and sustainable server cooling system.
